Our Governing Body plays a vital role in shaping the strategic direction of the school and ensuring the very best outcomes for our children. Over the past year, governors have worked closely with school leaders as we refined and strengthened our curriculum, ensuring it continues to meet the needs of all pupils and supports high-quality learning across every year group.
Governors contribute actively to the school’s self-evaluation processes and help create a clear and ambitious School Development Plan. They also visit the school regularly to meet with leaders, discuss key areas of development, and see learning in action across the classrooms. These visits give governors valuable insight into the day-to-day experiences of our pupils and the impact of our work.
Safeguarding remains a central priority for the Governing Body. Governors work closely with senior leaders to ensure that safeguarding procedures are robust, consistently applied, and fully compliant with statutory guidance. Through regular monitoring and challenge, governors help to maintain a culture where the safety and wellbeing of every child is paramount.
We hold three Full Governing Body meetings each year, supported by the work of two committees: Pupil Achievement, and Operations & Business. Each committee meets three times annually to monitor progress, review key areas of school performance, and ensure that statutory responsibilities are met.
Together, the Governing Body is committed to providing strong, effective governance that supports the school to deliver an excellent educational experience for every child.
