YEAR 5

Welcome to Year 5
We’ve made an excellent start to year 5! We’re eager to take part in the daily mile and ensure we have lots of energy throughout the day for our work. We have started the year by thinking about what it is to be a good learner and how we can improve upon this, we can all definitely improve … even Mrs Bowness and Mrs Sanderson! Place value has kicked off our maths journey this year and we can now explain confidently what place value is and key terminology such as base 10 and place holders. We will then move onto tasks which show a greater understanding and allow us to explore and explain exactly what it is we are doing and what is happening with the numbers.
Are Vikings as vicious as everyone believes? Can we help Hiccup explain to others how to train a dragon? All important questions for year 5 to answer.
