Next Friday 27th May 2016 we are holding a fundraising day for Logan Grieves, a happy, determined Year 3 pupil who in July 2015 was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a muscle wasting disease. Logan uses a wheelchair every day but his condition means that in the near future he will need an electric chair to meet his needs and enable him to be as independent as possible. His family have set up ‘Logan’s Bear Necessity Fund’ and are fundraising to purchase his chair which costs in excess of £20,000 and they would appreciate your help. Next Friday we are holding the following activities in school:
Along with this newsletter today you should receive two strips of raffle tickets – if you would like to support Logan’s fundraiser and be in with a chance of winning one of the great prizes on offer which include a large food and drink hamper, garden lanterns, wine, gifts sets and much more, simply tear the tickets down the centre – you keep one half and write your child’s name and class on the back of each ticket on the other half and send back into school along with £2.00 (£1.00 per strip). The raffle will be drawn in the morning on Friday 27th May in school. Additional tickets are available from the school office.
On Friday 27th May all staff and pupils may come to school in non-uniform for 50p – please hand your child’s 50p to a member of staff on the door or pop it in a clearly marked container.
Children may bring money to have a try and win a prize on the children’s tombola (this will run during break time in school). Tickets cost 50p each and children may have as many turns as they like – when it’s gone it’s gone!
Thank you so much in anticipation of your support for Logan. As there are a few different activities please send any money into school in a clearly marked envelope or container, especially for our younger children.
